Subsistence whaling in the fall provides food for the Inupiat villagers, and for the polar bears.

Seasonally we have local villagers who are available to help visitors learn about the Inupiat culture and subsistence activities happening in and near the village of Kaktovik. Please contact us for more information about their rates and availability.
